LastMile Pool: Delivery Pool and Batching
All deliveries and pickups waiting to be routed land in one pool. Filter them, tick a batch, then assign a driver, send them to the Routing Center, or cancel them.
New deliveries and pickups do not go straight to a driver. They first wait in the Pool (LastMile → Pool, /lastmile/pool), one combined list of every delivery and pickup still in "pending" status, oldest first. Your job on this page is batching: find the orders that belong together, tick them, and then do one thing with the whole batch — assign a driver, hand the batch to the Routing Center for route planning, or cancel the orders.
Step 1: Find the orders you want#
- Open LastMile → Pool. The counter next to the title shows how many orders match your current filters.
- Filter by type: All, Delivery, or Pickup.
- Search by region or address — the search also matches the city and the order number.
- Filter by priority (VIP, Urgent, Normal) and by time slot (Morning, Afternoon, Evening) when you batch by urgency or by part of the day.
- Tick "COD only" to see just the orders where the driver has to collect money on delivery.
The Pool is the one place where pending deliveries and pickups sit side by side (LastMile → Pool). You no longer have to open the deliveries list and the pickups list separately and keep two half-finished batches in your head — filter once, and the batch in front of you is the whole picture.
Pickup-delivery pairs: one stop, two jobs#
When a pickup and a delivery share the same phone number and address, the Pool treats them as a pickup-delivery pair: they are shown together inside a dashed purple frame with a "Pickup-delivery pair" tag. That usually means the driver stops once and does both jobs — drop the new parcel, take the return or the outbound parcel with them. Keep pairs in the same batch so they end up on the same route.
- Each row shows the order number, type, priority tag (VIP or Urgent), the COD amount when there is one, and the handling unit — check these before you batch.
- A pair is only grouped visually — you still tick each row yourself, so make sure both halves of a pair are ticked.
Step 2: Select the batch#
- Tick the checkbox on each row you want, or use the checkbox in the batch bar to select everything currently filtered.
- Watch the "selected" counter — the Assign driver, Route, and Cancel buttons only wake up once at least one order is selected.
Step 3: Assign a driver directly#
- Click "Assign driver". In the popup, pick a driver from the active driver list.
- Pick one of the driver routes for today. Deliveries need a route to land on; pickups are assigned to the driver (and the route, when one is chosen).
- If the driver has no route for today yet, tick "Create route for today" and the page creates one on the spot.
- Confirm. The page reports how many orders were assigned, and they leave the Pool.
If the batch contains deliveries and you neither picked a route nor ticked "Create route for today", the page stops and asks you to choose — a delivery is never assigned to a driver with nowhere to go. This direct-assign path (LastMile → Pool → Assign driver) is the quick way when you already know who should take the batch; when the batch needs planning first, use the next step instead.
Step 4: Or send the batch to the Routing Center#
Click "Route" in the batch bar (or "Send to Routing Center" at the top right) and the ticked orders travel with you to the Routing Center (LastMile → Routing) with the selection already loaded. There you plan the batch into routes first and assign drivers from the plan, instead of deciding driver by driver in the Pool. Pool for quick manual batches, Routing Center for planned ones — the two pages share the same pending orders, so nothing is lost moving between them.
Cancel orders that should not go out#
