Connect Walmart: pull orders in, push fulfillment out
Copy your Consumer ID and Private Key from Walmart Developer Portal, paste them into Integration, test, map, activate — orders flow in and fulfillment flows back.
The Walmart connector pulls Walmart Marketplace orders into OMS, and pushes fulfillment and inventory back to Walmart. It also pulls returns in and can push product and inventory updates out — one connection covers your Marketplace selling.
Prerequisites#
- A Walmart Marketplace seller account.
- Access to Walmart Developer Portal, with permission to open My apps for that Marketplace account.
- Someone who can keep the Private Key safe — you will need the full key again if you reconnect or rotate it.
Get your credentials#
- Go to Walmart Developer Portal → My apps, and open the app for your Marketplace account.
- Copy the Consumer ID shown on that page.
- Copy the Private Key on the same page. It is in PKCS#8 PEM format and starts with -----BEGIN PRIVATE KEY----- — copy the whole text, including the first and last lines.
Fill it into Integration#
- Open Integration → Connector Marketplace → Walmart → New connection.
- Consumer ID: paste the Consumer ID you copied from Walmart Developer Portal → My apps. Both fields are required.
- Private Key: paste the full Private Key in PKCS#8 PEM format, starting with -----BEGIN PRIVATE KEY----- and including the closing line. Requests are signed with Consumer ID + Private Key; the key is encrypted at rest and never echoed back.
Test the connection#
Click Test connection. The test sends a signed request — signed with your Consumer ID and Private Key — to probe the Walmart Marketplace API. A pass means Walmart accepted the signature and the credentials can be used. If it fails, note the error and check the FAQ below before changing anything else.
Mapping / pick a template#
Pick the Walmart standard template. It maps order number, line SKUs, quantities, ship-to address, and fulfillment status between Walmart and the standard order. Check the mapping preview before activating, especially that each Walmart SKU is paired to the right OMS product.
Activate#
After activation, Integration pulls new Walmart Marketplace orders on the schedule you set, pulls returns in, and pushes fulfillment with tracking, product updates, and inventory changes back to Walmart. Watch the first few orders in Runs / Logs before trusting it unattended.
FAQ#
Test fails with 401
Walmart rejected the signature on the test request. The most common cause is a Private Key that was copied incompletely or whose format is broken, so the signature cannot be verified.
Re-copy the Private Key from Walmart Developer Portal → My apps and paste the full text again: it must be a complete PKCS#8 PEM, starting with -----BEGIN PRIVATE KEY----- and ending with the closing line, with no characters missing. Save and test again.
Test fails: Consumer ID not recognized
The Consumer ID field holds the wrong value — often a different ID was pasted in instead of the Consumer ID for this app, so Walmart cannot match the signed request to your app.
Go back to Walmart Developer Portal → My apps, copy the Consumer ID shown for that app exactly, replace the value in the connection, save, and test again.
Connection worked before, now every test fails
The key or the app on the Walmart side is no longer valid — for example the Private Key was revoked, or the app was disabled in Walmart Developer Portal. A key that Walmart no longer accepts cannot sign requests, however it is pasted.
Generate a fresh Private Key for the app in Walmart Developer Portal, paste the new full key into the connection, save, and test again. Keep the new key somewhere safe, as it is only fully visible when generated.
Connected but no orders come in
The connection itself is fine — testing passes — but Walmart Marketplace has no new orders for this account yet, so there is nothing to pull.
Place a real order on your Walmart Marketplace listing (or wait for the next customer order), then run a manual pull and check Runs / Logs. New orders appear once Walmart has issued them.
