Drayage quotes (QT-): price before you haul

Last updated 2026-10-14

Base rate plus accessorials; an accepted quote can generate the drayage order. Only draft quotes can be deleted.

A quote (QT-) is the price you offer the customer before the truck rolls: one base rate for the move, plus any extras. Use it when the customer wants a number first; skip it and create the order directly when the price is already settled.

How a quote adds up#

  • Base rate — the main charge for the container move (per trip or per container).
  • Accessorials — extras such as chassis rental, pre-pull, re-delivery, or overweight permits.
  • Total = base rate + all accessorials, calculated automatically.

Quote flow in 4 steps#

  1. Create the quote (QT-) as a draft: pick the customer, base rate, and accessorials.
  2. Send it (sent) so the customer sees the price.
  3. The customer accepts (accepted) or lets it expire (expired).
  4. An accepted quote can generate the drayage order as a draft — one click, details carry over.
Only draft quotes can be deleted. Once a quote is sent (or accepted), it stays in history — cancel or let it expire instead of deleting.
The order generated from an accepted quote starts as draft (or quoted) and can be dispatched immediately — no need to rebuild anything.
