Outbound orders: filter, create, and edit
Always-visible combined filters on the order list, full editing while in draft, Store + UOM dropdown rules, and the Cluster wizard check moved earlier.

All filters always visible on the order list#
The outbound order list supports combined queries across status, client, order type, carrier, and creation date range. All filter fields now stay visible above the list — the old "Advanced Filters" fold is gone. Stack several conditions to narrow down — e.g. “this week’s parcel orders for client X that are still draft”. You can also filter by priority (Raised 1+, Urgent 10+, or Default 0), by rush (rush only or non-rush only), and by shipped date range — the shipped date range matches the Shipped Time column, so it only returns orders that actually shipped in that window. Export uses exactly the filters you have applied, so the CSV always matches the list on screen.
Draft orders are fully editable#
While an outbound order is in draft, everything can be edited: the order type, the order lines, and all order header information (previously only the header was editable). Once the order moves past draft, editing locks down as before.
Create orders from a CSV import#
Outbound orders can be created in bulk from a file: on the order list page, download the template → fill it → upload. The page parses the file and sends the rows; the backend validates every row (required fields, qty > 0, SKU exists, client exists, warehouse exists, shipment_no not duplicated) and creates one draft order per shipment_no — rows sharing the same shipment_no merge into a single order.
- Template columns: shipment_no | client* | warehouse | order_type | ship_to_name* | ship_to_address* | ship_to_city* | ship_to_state | ship_to_postal* | ship_to_country | ship_to_phone | sku* | qty* | uom | note (* = required).
- Leave shipment_no empty to auto-generate it; leave warehouse empty to use the current warehouse; order_type defaults to parcel.
- Rows that fail validation are reported with reasons and never enter the system — only valid rows create orders.
Store and UOM dropdown rules#
- The Store dropdown sits next to Ship To. Pick a store and the ship-to address fills in automatically and locks (read-only) — the address comes from the store master, not from typing. Leave Store empty and the ship-to address is free text.
- When adding an item to an order line, UOM is a dropdown that defaults to the product’s default UOM — change it per line if the order ships in a different unit.
Cluster wizard: parcel check moved to step 1#
The order_type=parcel eligibility check now runs at wizard step 1 (it used to block you at step 4). Order numbers inside the wizard are clickable and open the order detail in a new tab, so you can verify an order without losing your place.
Order detail: the record tabs#
Next to Info, the order detail page has six more tabs that show everything that happened to this order. They used to say “Coming soon”; they are all live now.
- Picked Inventories — what was actually picked for this order, grouped by pick task. Columns: task number, pick method, SKU, product, quantity (picked / to pick), source location, tote (LPN) and lot number — plus four "pick evidence" columns that show the values recorded at pick confirmation: pick-from location code, pick-to location code, pallet LPN, and tote LPN. If the order was picked inside a cluster, only this order’s share is shown.
- Shipped Inventories — every shipment made from this order, one row per package (parcel) or freight shipment, with the SP shipment number, order type, carrier, service, tracking number (PRO/BOL for freight), package x of n, weight and shipped time. Expand a row to see which SKUs and quantities went inside.
- Shipping SN — the serial numbers captured for this order. Important: these serial numbers are captured during picking (scanned when the item goes into the tote/LPN); they are not re-verified at ship time, and the tab says so. Columns: serial number, SKU, pick task, tote/LPN, captured by and capture time. Products without serial tracking show an empty tab.
- Attachment Upload — files that belong to this order: packing photos, signed paperwork, carrier documents. Upload, download and delete; uploading a file that is already stored attaches it instantly instead of storing a second copy.
- Accessorial Charges — extra fees on this order, picked from the Accounting billing catalog (packing material, extra labor, special handling, rush fee and the like). Enter the quantity and the amount is calculated from the catalog price. Removing a line deletes it for real: a charge that was synced to Accounting but not yet invoiced also removes its billing event there; a charge already invoiced or closed cannot be removed (the message tells you why), and every removal is kept in the audit log. Once a charge has been synced to Accounting its price can no longer be changed here — remove the line and add a new one with the right amount. The charges settle with the monthly close in Accounting and land on the client’s invoice.
- Put Back History — every time picked goods for this order were returned to stock (Return to Stock). Columns: SKU, returned quantity, reason (task cancelled, order cancelled, wrong item, wrong quantity, other), the location the goods went back to — “Pending” until the putaway is actually done — plus who started it and when.
Ship dialog: location, carrier and service are linked#
- Deduct from location is a dropdown now, not a text box: pick by location code or name. It is pre-filled with the location the goods were picked to (the staging / picked location on the order’s pick task), so in the normal case you just confirm — change it only if the goods are somewhere else.
- Carrier is a dropdown of active carriers. Pick a carrier and the Shipping Service dropdown fills with that carrier’s services; the chosen service is saved on the shipment and shows up in the Shipped Inventories tab.
Direct Ship: send an order without a pick task#
- On the order detail page, the action menu has Direct Ship for orders in Draft, Allocated or Planned. Use it for small orders you can grab and send right away — no packing station needed. A Planned order already has a pick task: if picking has not started yet, Direct Ship cancels that task automatically and ships the order; once picking has started, the order can no longer be direct-shipped — finish or cancel the pick task first.
- The dialog lists every line with the locations you can deduct from, each location’s type (picking / storage) and the quantity available there. Confirm and the order becomes Fulfilled. The system automatically records a completed pick task under your name, so the order’s history and the pick counts stay complete — you can open it from the order’s pick task link.
- If you pick a carrier, a tracking number is required. With no carrier — customer pickup, for example — tracking can stay empty. One tracking number covers the whole order; multi-parcel shipments go through the Packing Station. Shipped tracking numbers are shown right next to each order line on the order detail page, so you do not have to hunt through the package pages.
- Lines deducted from a storage location ship by pallet: scan or pick the pallet for each such line, otherwise the ship is blocked with a message telling you what is missing.
- The pallet field is one combo box now: type to filter, pick from the dropdown (only pallets on the selected location are offered), or scan — an exact scan match is accepted automatically. Change the location and the pallet is cleared, so a pallet can never be shipped from the wrong location by accident.
- Short on stock? Set a line’s ship quantity to 0 (or less than ordered) and confirm the shortage with a reason — the order still ships and is marked short-fulfilled. If picking has already started on an order, it cannot be direct-shipped: finish or cancel the pick task first.
Clone dialog: see what copies before you confirm#
Clone now opens a proper dialog instead of a bare browser confirm. It lists what will be copied — the order header (client, ship-to address, carrier preference, gift details) and all order lines with quantities, UOM and custom fields — and what will NOT be copied: the status timeline, the pick task, picked / shipped quantities, tracking numbers, and the charges and attachments. The new order number is generated automatically by the system; after cloning you land on the new order, which starts again from draft.
Ship-to: pick from the address book, pick a Store, or type it in#
- The Ship-to block on the create and edit forms works two ways: pick an address from the client’s address book, or type the recipient in by hand. Addresses live in the client’s address book (Master Data), shared by OMS and WMS.
- Tick “Stores only” to filter the address book down to store addresses (each address shows its type). Picking a Store fills the whole Ship-to block with the store’s address and locks it — the address itself is maintained in the address book; unlock the block if you really need to type over it for this one order.
- On an existing order, Ship-to can only be changed while the order is still a Draft. Once the order has moved on, the block is read-only — the address the goods were promised to no longer changes mid-flight.
Edit form: Carrier is a dropdown, Shipping Service follows it#
- Carrier is no longer free text — pick from the carrier master data (the same list used by receiving and the ship dialog). Keep the master list current under Carriers, and every order form picks it up.
- Shipping Service follows the chosen carrier: if the carrier has saved services, they appear in a dropdown and picking one stores that service on the order. Switching carriers clears the service so you pick again. If the carrier has no saved services, the field stays a text box — type the service in directly.
Creating a pick task: choose the picker (optional)#
When you create an Order Pick task — from the order detail page’s Create Task dropdown, or in batch from the order list (Create Pick Task → Order Pick) — a dialog now asks who should pick it. All task-creation entries on the detail page are grouped under one Create Task dropdown. Choose a warehouse member to assign the task right away, or leave it empty: the task is created unassigned and can be assigned later or claimed by a picker. As soon as the task is created, the order status moves from Allocated to Planned.
