Layout editor guide: quick, area, and expert modes
When to use auto-generate, Excel import + drag tuning, or expert mode (15° rotation, group delete, 0.1 m bin nudges) — with steps for each.
The layout editor has three gears. Pick the lowest one that gets the job done — you can always switch up later without redoing anything.
Tier 1 — Quick: auto-generate#
For regular warehouses with clean numbering. Enter the warehouse length/width and the rack specs (rows, racks per row, levels, columns) — one click generates every bin’s 3D coordinates as a draft. Preview it, publish it, done.
Tier 2 — Area: Excel import + drag tuning#
- You have a CAD drawing: fill the template (one row per rack group — code, start X/Z, length, width, rotation, levels, columns) and import.
- In the 3D preview, click a rack group to select it, then drag it to its real position. Use the size inputs to fix length/width.
- Everything is staged locally — the warehouse is untouched until you press "Save adjustments". One PATCH writes it all back.
Tier 3 — Expert: when centimeters matter#
- Rotate in 15° steps (or type any angle 0–359): select a group, use the −15°/+15° buttons or the free angle input. Dragging already got it close; this nails the exact orientation.
- Delete a rack group: for racks that were demolished or never built. Two-step confirm; staged until you save.
- Bin-level fine tuning: double-click a group to enter bin mode, click a single bin, then nudge it with the arrow pad in 0.1 m steps. For that one bin the CAD got wrong.
