Billing: service fees, advanced duties and monthly statements
Bill customs service fees, advanced duties and inspection fees per declaration; monthly statements per client; bills flow into Accounting.
Three kinds of charges appear on a customs bill: your service fee (what you charge for doing the paperwork), advanced duties (tax you paid customs on the client’s behalf — you get this back), and inspection fees (extra costs when customs inspects). Bills are raised per declaration, then rolled up into a monthly statement per client.
Bill a declaration#
- Open Customs → Billing → New bill. Pick the declaration — service fee, advanced duties and any inspection fees auto-fill from it.
- Adjust if needed (discounts, extra handling), then Issue. The bill flows into Accounting automatically — no double entry.
Monthly statements#
At month end, open Billing → Monthly statements, pick the client and the month: all that client’s declaration bills roll into one statement with a total. Send it from the page; unpaid balances age here too.
