Client address book
One address book per client, shared by OMS and WMS: maintain store, DC, office and return addresses once, pick them on any order — a store is simply an address of type "Store".
The address book lives on the client detail page (Master Data → Clients → open a client → the Addresses card). Every address belongs to one client and is shared by OMS and WMS: maintain it once, and the order forms in both systems can pick from it. No more retyping the same ship-to address on every order.
Five address types#
| Type | Used for | Extra fields |
|---|---|---|
| Store | Ship-to stores on delivery routes | Store code, delivery window, milk run |
| DC | The client's distribution centers | — |
| Office | Billing and office addresses | — |
| Returns | Where returns go back to | — |
| Other | Anything else | — |
Maintain the address book#
- Open the client → Addresses card → "+ New address". Fill in the label, the address type, contact name, phone, email and the address itself; flip the "Default address" switch if this is the address used most often.
- When the type is Store, three extra fields appear: store code, delivery window and the milk run it belongs to — the same fields the old store list had.
- Use the type filter above the list to find addresses fast. "Set default" moves the default flag; "Deactivate" retires an address — it disappears from the order pickers, while orders already created keep the address snapshot they were saved with.
Use it when creating orders#
On the WMS outbound order form and the OMS sales order form, once you pick the client, an "Address book" dropdown appears above the ship-to fields.
- Pick a saved address → the ship-to fields fill in automatically. The fields are not locked: you can still tweak them by hand, and the order keeps its own snapshot.
- Typed the address by hand? Tick "Save this address to the address book" — after the order is saved, the address is added to the client’s book as type Other, so next time you just pick it.
A store is just an address#
There is no separate store master list anymore: a store is simply an address whose type is Store. The old store list is kept for history but is no longer written to — create new stores in the address book. Milk-run planning reads its stores from the address book as well.
