Warehouses in OMS Settings: keep your warehouse list up to date without leaving OMS

Last updated 2026-10-27

Warehouses are one shared list for the whole system. OMS Settings now carries the same warehouse maintenance page as Master Data — create, edit and deactivate warehouses right where you route orders and check stock.

There is only one warehouse list. A warehouse you create or change here is the same warehouse that Master Data shows, that WMS works in, and that order routing picks from — there is never a second copy to keep in sync. This page exists so the people who live in OMS (routing orders, checking stock, setting return destinations) do not have to switch apps just to fix a warehouse address or add a new site.

Where to find it#

  1. Main entry: OMS → Settings → Warehouses (the Warehouses button in the settings tab row).
  2. From stock work: OMS → Inventory has a Warehouses button at the top right of the page.
  3. From routing work: OMS → Routing (sales order routing) has the same Warehouses button at the top right — handy when you are setting routing priorities, because the priority itself is a warehouse field (see below).

Step 1: Create a warehouse#

  1. Open OMS → Settings → Warehouses and click “+ New warehouse”.
  2. Fill in the basics: code and name (both required), address, city, state, postal code, country and timezone. The code is how the warehouse is referred to everywhere, so pick one your team recognises at a glance.
  3. Set the working rules in the same form: ops mode (how the warehouse executes work), receiving mode, latitude/longitude if you use distance-based routing, and the routing priority — smaller number wins when routing chooses between warehouses.
  4. Save. The warehouse appears in the list immediately and is available everywhere the system offers a warehouse choice. Location-level settings (return default locations, the 3D auto-layout wizard) are filled in from the edit page once the warehouse exists.

Step 2: Edit or deactivate a warehouse#

  1. In the list, click a warehouse code to open its edit page. Use the search box to filter by code or name; tick “Show inactive” if the warehouse you want is currently deactivated.
  2. Change what you need and save. Edits land on the one shared warehouse record, so Master Data, WMS and routing all see the same new values right away.
  3. To retire a warehouse, open its edit page and use Deactivate at the bottom left. Deactivated warehouses stop being offered for new work but stay in history; you can reactivate from the same place.

Good to know#

  • Same page, two doors: OMS → Settings → Warehouses and Master Data → Warehouses are the same maintenance page over the same list. Use whichever app you are already in — nothing needs syncing afterwards.
  • Zones are not maintained here. A zone is a physical area inside a warehouse (picking, storage, functional); zones and locations live in Master Data → Zones and the WMS location pages.
  • A yard is not a warehouse: yards are maintained inside YMS, not on this page.
