Printing documents to a regular printer (BOL, packing list, pick list)
Send letter-size documents straight from the page to a regular (A4/Letter) printer through Device Hub — no system print dialog, no printer hunting.
Two kinds of printers, automatic routing#
Device Hub manages two kinds of printers: label printers (pallet labels, product labels, shipping labels) and regular printers (A4/Letter paper documents). You never have to pick the kind: documents such as the BOL, packing list and pick list always go to a regular printer, and labels always go to a label printer. In Device Hub each printer shows its kind, and on a regular printer you can choose “Set as default regular printer” — documents then go to that printer by default.
Before you start#
- Install Device Hub on the warehouse computer and pair it with your company (see the Device Hub guide). The Hub must be running when you print.
- Make sure the regular printer appears in Device Hub. If it is missing, add the printer in your system first (Windows Settings or macOS Printers), then restart the Hub.
- Optional: set one regular printer as the default in Device Hub, so the print button works in one click.
How to print#
- Open the document: a BOL (from a load or an order), the BOL Generator, a pick list (from OMS orders), or the packing list preview on an order.
- Click “Print to device”. The document is sent to your default regular printer (or the one you used last time).
- To use a different regular printer, click the small arrow next to the button and pick from the list — only regular printers are shown, and the choice is remembered for next time.
- A success message means the document was sent to the printer queue. If paper does not come out, check the printer itself (paper, jams, power) — the queue accepted the job, but the Hub cannot see paper problems.
Packing list (A4): no Hub on this computer? It still prints#
On the A4 packing list page, “Print to device” first tries the Device Hub on this computer. If this computer has no Hub installed (or the Hub is not paired in this browser), the document is sent automatically to the warehouse’s default regular printer instead — the message will say it was sent to the warehouse printer, and you can track it in the Print Center. For this to work, an admin needs to set a default regular printer for the warehouse under Print Devices. If the page says no default regular printer is set, ask an admin to set one, or use browser printing for now.
