Connect Wayfair: pull orders in, push fulfillment out
Copy your Client ID and Client secret from Wayfair Partner Home, paste them into Integration, test, map, activate — orders flow in and fulfillment flows back.
The Wayfair connector pulls orders from Wayfair into OMS, and pushes fulfillment back to Wayfair. It can also push product and inventory updates out, so orders, shipping, and stock stay in sync on both sides.
Prerequisites#
- A Wayfair supplier account with access to Wayfair Partner Home.
- Permission to open the API settings in Wayfair Partner Home — the Client ID and Client secret are shown there.
- Your Wayfair Supplier ID, if you will push inventory or tracking — both pushes require it. The example value in the field is 5000; use your own ID, not the example.
- Decide which environment to connect first: sandbox for a first trial, production for live orders. Sandbox and production do not share orders, so do not mix them.
Get your credentials#
- Sign in to Wayfair Partner Home and open the API settings.
- On that page, copy the Client ID.
- On the same page, copy the Client secret. Save it somewhere safe — you will paste it into Integration in the next step.
- You do not need to get an Access token by hand. Leave that field empty in Integration and the system generates one automatically from your Client ID and Client secret (client_credentials, valid for 12 hours) and keeps it refreshed.
Fill it into Integration#
- Open Integration → Connector Marketplace → Wayfair → New connection.
- Client ID (required): paste the Client ID you copied from Wayfair Partner Home → API settings.
- Client secret (required): paste the Client secret from the same page. It is encrypted at rest and never echoed back.
- Access token (optional): leave it empty. The system auto-generates a token from your Client ID and Client secret (client_credentials, 12h token). Only fill it in if you deliberately want to override the generated token with a token of your own.
- Supplier ID: fill in your Wayfair supplier ID, for example 5000. It is required for inventory push and tracking push — without it those pushes cannot run, even though orders can still be pulled.
- Sandbox mode: type "true" to use the Wayfair sandbox environment. Leave it at the default ("false") to use production. Set this on purpose — a sandbox connection never sees production orders.
Test the connection#
Click Test connection. The test exchanges your Client ID and Client secret for an access token and probes the Wayfair API, then shows a document-level preview with one real order, platform fields next to the standard order. If the account has no orders yet, the connectivity check can still pass — place or wait for a real order before judging the preview, and see the FAQ below if the test fails.
Mapping / pick a template#
Pick the Wayfair standard template. It maps order number, line SKUs, quantities, and ship-to address into the standard order, and maps fulfillment and tracking back into Wayfair format. Check the mapping preview before activating, especially that each Wayfair SKU is paired to the right product, so inventory push reports the right items.
Activate#
After activation, Integration pulls new Wayfair orders on the schedule you set, and pushes fulfillment with tracking, plus product and inventory updates, back to Wayfair. Watch the first few orders in Runs / Logs before trusting it unattended — in particular, check that the first tracking push goes through, since it needs the Supplier ID.
FAQ#
Test fails: authentication is rejected
The Client ID or the Client secret is wrong, so Wayfair will not exchange them for an access token. The two values are a pair from the same API settings page — mixing in a value copied from somewhere else, or a secret with a character missing, breaks the exchange.
Go back to Wayfair Partner Home → API settings, copy the Client ID and the Client secret again from that same page, replace both values in the connection, save, and test again.
Connection worked, then started failing after some hours
A manually filled Access token has expired. A token obtained this way is valid for 12 hours only, so a token pasted into the Access token field works at first and then stops — while the automatic exchange from Client ID and Client secret would have kept refreshing it.
Clear the Access token field and save, so the system goes back to auto-generating the token from your Client ID and Client secret, then test again. Only use the manual field for a short-lived override.
Orders pull in, but inventory or tracking push fails
The Supplier ID is missing or wrong. Order pulling only needs the Client ID and Client secret, but inventory push and tracking push also need your Wayfair supplier ID — with the field empty, or holding someone else’s ID or the example value, Wayfair cannot accept those pushes.
Fill in your own Wayfair Supplier ID in the connection (not the example 5000, unless that really is your ID), save, and run the push again from Runs / Logs.
Test passes, but live orders never appear
Sandbox and production have been mixed up. If Sandbox mode is set to "true", the connection talks to the Wayfair sandbox environment, which only ever holds sandbox data — production orders are never visible there, however often you pull.
For live orders, set Sandbox mode to "false" (the default) and test again. Keep a separate connection, clearly named, if you also want a sandbox connection for trials.
Connected but no orders come in
The connection itself is fine — testing passes — but Wayfair has no new orders for this supplier account yet, so there is nothing to pull.
Wait for the next real order on Wayfair (in sandbox mode, use a sandbox order instead), then run a manual pull and check Runs / Logs. New orders appear once Wayfair has issued them.
