Filters and camera: find exactly what you need in the 3D warehouse

Last updated 2026-10-15

Four stackable filters (client, occupancy, slow-moving, near-expiry), mouse controls, preset views, floor switching, the minimap, and one-click screenshot export.

A warehouse with tens of thousands of bins is beautiful in 3D — and useless if you cannot narrow it down. The left panel holds four filters (they stack: turn on two and you get the intersection), and the camera controls plus preset views get you to the right spot fast.

The five filters#

  • By client — multi-select dropdown: only bins holding that client’s goods stay solid; everything else fades to translucent. 3PL warehouses use this constantly.
  • By zone — multi-select: show only bins in the selected zones (e.g. "Bulk Storage A"). The zone list comes from live location data.
  • By occupancy — a slider for a range, e.g. "only racks over 70%" to see every red rack at once.
  • Slow-moving only — bins holding goods untouched for over 90 days (by the ledger’s last movement time). Those bins get a blinking amber outline. Great for the monthly dead-stock review.
  • Near-expiry only — goods expiring in under 30 days; bins get a magenta outline. FEFO teams live here.
Filtered-out bins fade to translucent over 300ms instead of vanishing — you keep the sense of space. The top bar always shows "Showing X of Y bins" with a one-click clear.

Mouse controls#

  • Left-drag: rotate. Scroll wheel: zoom. Right-drag: pan.
  • Double-click a rack: the camera flies over smoothly (800ms animation) and frames it.
  • The left panel collapses to give the 3D canvas the full screen.

Preset views#

  • Top view — straight-down floor-plan perspective. The fastest way to read the color pattern of a whole floor.
  • Aisle view — drops you at the main aisle, looking down the rack rows. What a supervisor sees walking the floor.
  • Roam — first-person walk through the aisles with WASD keys. Useful for checking clearances and signage placement before a physical walk.

Floors, minimap, screenshot#

  • Floor switching — multi-level warehouses (mezzanine / second pick level) get tabs at the top; only one floor renders at a time, keeping it fast.
  • Floor occupancy on tabs — each floor tab shows its occupancy rate (e.g. "Floor1 · 62%"), and a summary bar under the tabs shows total bins / stocked bins / occupancy for the current floor.
  • Minimap — the small map at the bottom-right shows a top view with your camera position and direction; click it to jump there.
  • Screenshot — one button in the top bar downloads the current view as a PNG. Use it for reports, shift handovers, or the monthly review deck.

Zones and dock doors#

  • Zones — if the warehouse has multiple zones, each zone gets a translucent colored patch on the floor plus a floating name label. Click a label to filter to that zone. Zone colors come from the zone name (same zone = same color, every time).
  • Dock doors — locations with a dock status render as a row of dock doors along the building edge: green = available, red = in use, gray = out of service. Click a door for its status and trailer info.
