Account Profile: Your Profile and Password

Last updated 2026-10-22

See your sign-in email, change the display name others see, and set a new password — all on one page, no administrator needed.

Your profile page holds the two things that belong to you personally: the name shown next to your work, and your password. Your email is your sign-in name and is shown read-only. Everything on this page only changes your own account — it never touches anyone else’s.

Step 1: Open your profile page#

  1. Click your avatar (your initial) at the top right of any page to open the user menu.
  2. Choose “Profile & password”. The page opens at /account/profile.
  3. You will see two cards: “Profile” on top and “Change password” below.

This user menu in the top right is also where you sign out. The profile page itself is not under Admin — every signed-in employee can open their own, no special role needed.

Step 2: Change your display name#

  1. In the “Profile” card, look at the Email field first: it shows your sign-in email and cannot be typed in.
  2. Type your new name in the Display name field.
  3. Click Save. A “Saved.” message confirms it.
  • The display name is the name colleagues see next to your actions in Docklify — use the name people actually call you, so records are easy to recognise.
  • Email cannot be changed on this page. If you need a different sign-in email, contact your administrator.

Step 3: Change your password#

  1. In the “Change password” card, type your new password in the New password field.
  2. Type the same password again in Confirm new password.
  3. Click Update password. When you see “Password updated.”, both fields clear and the new password is in effect — use it the next time you sign in.
Two simple rules: the password must be at least 6 characters, and both entries must match exactly. If either rule fails, the page tells you in plain words (“Password must be at least 6 characters.” / “The two passwords do not match.”) and nothing is changed.
How a password change is checked on this page.

Forgot your password? An administrator can reset it#

If you cannot sign in at all, you cannot reach this page — ask an administrator instead. They open Admin → Staff, find your row, click “Reset password”, type a new temporary password (at least 8 characters) and save; tell you that password in person, sign in with it, then come back to this page and change it to your own in the “Change password” card.

Never share your real password with anyone — including an administrator. An admin reset gives you a temporary password to sign in once; your real password is always one you set yourself on this page.
