Inspection handling: from notice to release
Record the customs inspection notice, move goods to the inspection area, handle the result (released / fix / detained) and close the loop.
When customs flags your declaration for inspection, the declaration status moves to Inspecting and an inspection record is created. The goods cannot leave until the result is in. Three outcomes: Released (you are free to go), Fix required (correct the problem, e.g. relabel), Detained (the goods are held — legal follow-up needed).
The 4 steps#
- Record the notice: open the declaration → Inspections → New, enter the inspection date, notice number and inspector instructions.
- Move the goods: transfer the declaration pallets to the inspection area in WMS (the system guides you to the right pallets via the linked receipt).
- Record the result: back in the inspection record, choose Released / Fix required / Detained and add notes or photos.
- Close the loop: Released → the declaration moves to Released and TMS can schedule pickup. Fix required → fix, re-inspect, then release. Detained → follow the legal process; the record stays open and visible.
