Documents: electronic signatures
Send a contract for signing right inside the system — signers draw their signature on phone or desktop, no printing or scanning.
Open any PDF in Documents, switch to the "E-Signature" tab, and click "Start signing". Add signers by email and name (the row order is the signing order), set an expiry date, and send. Each signer gets a link — they open it on any device, draw their signature, and submit. No account needed.
How to use it#
- Open the PDF in Documents and go to the "E-Signature" tab.
- Click "Start signing", fill in a title, and add signers (name + email, one per row).
- Send the invitations — each signer gets a unique link (copy it from the request list if needed).
- The signer opens the link, draws a signature on the pad, and submits. The request shows live progress (signed n/m).
- When everyone has signed, click "Finalize" to bake all signatures into the PDF and download the signed copy.
Ground rules#
- This is a simple handwritten e-signature (drawn signature + audit trail), not a certificate-based digital signature. For regulated industries that require PKI certificates, use DocuSign or Adobe Sign instead.
- Every view and signature is logged (who, when, IP address) — the audit trail is append-only and cannot be edited.
- Expired links show an "expired" page; already-signed signers cannot sign twice.
- Only PDF files can be finalized — other formats can collect signatures but the stamped copy requires a PDF.
