Drayage DO Intake: From Delivery Order to a Draft Order, With Your Confirmation

Last updated 2026-10-26

Delivery orders that arrive by email — or that you paste in — are read automatically and wait in a review queue. You check the highlighted fields, then confirm to create the draft order. Nothing is ever created without your confirmation.

Typing every delivery order by hand takes time and invites typos — one wrong digit in a container number sends a driver to the wrong box. DO Intake reads the DO for you and puts every field it found in the review queue under Drayage → DO Intake. Fields the system is unsure about are highlighted yellow or red. You fix anything that looks wrong, then confirm: only then does a draft drayage order get created.

How a DO gets into the queue#

Two ways in. (1) Email: when a customer or shipping line emails a delivery order to the mailbox your team already uses for support email, the system recognizes it as a DO and files it into the queue instead of opening a support ticket. If a message is not clearly a DO, it keeps flowing to tickets as before — mail is never dropped. (2) Paste: on the DO Intake page, choose "Paste a DO", paste the DO text (for example copied from a PDF), and submit. Either way you get a queue row with the fields filled in as far as the system could read them.

Step 1: Review the highlighted fields#

Open a queue row to see every field with the confidence the system has in it. Yellow means "probably right — give it a look", red means "likely wrong — check carefully", and a note under a field says why (for example, a container number whose check digit does not add up). Container numbers are validated against the ISO 6346 check digit, so a mistyped digit is caught here instead of at the terminal gate. Edit any value right in the row, and edit the container list (one per line: number, size, seal).

Step 2: Fill what is missing from tracking#

Choose "Fill from tracking" and the system looks the B/L number and container numbers up in container tracking, filling only the fields that are still empty — vessel and voyage, terminal, last free day — without ever overwriting what you already checked. Anything it still cannot find is listed as missing in plain words; the system never invents values. Docklify weaves in here: the same tracking data your team sees on the Drayage tracking page is what fills the gaps, so the order and the track stay consistent.

Step 3: Confirm to create the order — or reject#

An order can be created with the essentials: the client, the move type, pickup and delivery places, and at least a B/L number or one valid container. If something essential is missing, the page tells you exactly what, and the row stays in the queue until it is fixed — it never guesses. When highlighted fields are present, tick "I checked the highlighted fields" to confirm anyway. Confirming creates one draft drayage order; if the B/L covers several containers, they all ride on that one order under the same bill, exactly as on the bills of lading page. If a DO is a duplicate or not yours, reject it with a reason — the reason is kept on record. Every step (arrival, edits, fill, confirm, reject) is written to the row history, so anyone can later see who did what.
