INV-05 Inventory Aging Report

Last updated 2026-11-01

Daily snapshot stock presented with first-in dates, for reviewing aging by first-in date.

This report shows stock from the daily snapshot, with the first-in date of each SKU lot, so you can see how old the stock is. It is a daily snapshot, not real-time data: the results carry a small “data as of” note and show stock as of the snapshot date.

What this report is for#

Use it to review the aging mix: how much stock came in long ago and how much is recent, by client and SKU. It helps you spot stock that has been sitting a long time and talk with the client about what to do with it.

How the numbers are counted#

This report is built from the daily inventory snapshot, which is refreshed daily. Each row is snapshot detail with the first-in date of that SKU lot: read the aging from the first-in date — the earlier the first-in date, the longer the stock has been on hand. This report does not group stock into ready-made age buckets such as 0–30, 31–60 or 90+ days; you judge the age directly from the first-in date on each row. Snapshot rows are as of the snapshot date, not real time, so stock that moved after the snapshot date will not show up until the next snapshot.

Dimensions and filters#

  • Snapshot Date — the date this snapshot was taken
  • Client — who owns the goods
  • SKU / Item — the product
  • First In Date — when this lot first came into stock
  • Qty On Hand — quantity on hand in the snapshot
  • Qty Allocated — quantity already allocated in the snapshot
  • Filters you can set: Date range, Warehouse, Client

How to read it#

Pick a snapshot date first, then read the first-in dates: rows with the earliest first-in dates are the oldest stock. Compare the on-hand quantity on those old rows with the newer rows for the same SKU to see how much of the total is old stock. Remember the figures are as of the snapshot date — for the live quantity right now, check INV-01 instead.

Typical uses#

  • Review which stock has been on hand the longest, by client
  • Prepare an aging overview to discuss with a client
  • Watch the aging mix change from one snapshot date to another
