Labor: Operators, Dashboard and Workforce Overview
See how the warehouse team is performing: output, hours and units per hour for every operator, measured against your labor standards — plus who is leading, who needs coaching, and what is happening right now.
Labor answers one question: how much work did each person get done, and how fast? As operators do their warehouse work — picking, receiving, moving and the rest — Labor collects their output and hours and turns them into UPH (units per hour) and an achievement % against the standard you set for each task type. It is not the place where employee records live, and it is not the clock-in system. People holds who a person is (employee file, job title, skills); Attend holds when they were here (clock in/out, leave, approvals); Labor holds how they performed while working. The three apps share the same people, but each answers a different question.
Who does what: Labor vs. People vs. Attend#
- People — the employee master file: name, employee no., job title, skills and certificates, onboarding/offboarding checklists. Change who a person is here.
- Attend — attendance: clock in and out, leave requests and approvals, who is absent today. Change when a person was here here.
- Labor — performance: output, hours, UPH, achievement % against standard, and quality exceptions (errors and damage) per operator and task type. Nothing here is typed in by hand — it is built from the work itself.
Step 1: Read the Labor dashboard#
- Open Labor (/labor) — it lands on the dashboard (/labor/dashboard). Use the date picker at the top right to choose the day; everything on the page is for that day.
- Read the four KPI cards across the top: Avg UPH today, % of standard, Active now, and Quality exceptions.
- Below the cards sit the Leaderboard and Needs coaching tables (top 5 each), and at the bottom the Live activity feed. Click any operator name to open that person’s detail page.
- Avg UPH today: the team’s average units per hour across all task types — the single speed number for the day.
- % of standard: actual UPH divided by the standard UPH. 100% means the team is exactly on standard. The standards themselves are set in Labor → Standards, one per task type — a Docklify setup worth doing once, because every achievement number on these pages hangs on it.
- Active now: how many operators have work in progress at this moment — your live headcount on the floor.
- Quality exceptions: errors and damage recorded today. Speed is only half the story — this card is the other half.
Step 2: Use the leaderboard and the coaching list#
Both tables rank operators per task type, not just overall — someone can lead at picking and lag at receiving, and the tables show that honestly. The achievement tag is color-coded the same everywhere in Labor: green at 100% or more, yellow from 85%, orange from 70%, red below 70%. Praise from the leaderboard; coach from the other list — and before coaching anyone on speed, open their detail page and check the Quality tab, because fast-and-damaging is not fast.
The Live activity card at the bottom shows the floor as it happens: operator, task type and start time for the work currently in progress. Supervisors use it as the "who is doing what right now" glance — no refresh-hunting through task lists. This live feed is part of the Labor dashboard (Labor → Dashboard), and it only fills up once operators are actually working; a new warehouse will see "No labor data yet" until the first tasks run.
Step 3: Review every operator for a day#
- Open Labor → Operators (/labor/operators) and pick the date. One row per operator who worked that day.
- Read across: Output (total units done), Hours, UPH, Exceptions (errors recorded), and Task types (which kinds of work they did).
- Click an operator’s name to open the detail page (/labor/operators/:id) for the full picture.
Step 4: Open one operator in detail#
- Efficiency tab: one card per task type, titled with the person’s UPH against the standard (e.g. "Picking — UPH 42 / 50"), a progress bar in the band color, and the raw numbers underneath: output, hours, number of work events, and the achievement % tag.
- Daily trend table (on the same tab): one row per day with that day’s UPH and hours — the fastest way to see whether someone is improving, steady, or sliding.
- Quality tab: one row per quality record — time, task type, error count, damage quantity and the note. This is the evidence behind the exception numbers elsewhere.
