YMS: appointments before arrival

Book a time window for each truck (AP-000001) with carrier, driver and plate numbers; editable only while scheduled.

An appointment is a reserved time window for a truck to come to your yard — like booking a table at a restaurant, it stops trucks piling up at the gate. You need an appointment whenever a truck comes to drop off or pick up goods. Each one gets a number like AP-000001.

Create an appointment#

  1. Choose inbound (truck brings goods) or outbound (truck picks up goods).
  2. Pick a time window (start and end), and enter the carrier, driver name, tractor plate, trailer number and container number.
  3. Optionally pick a warehouse, merchant, and a parking spot to reserve for the truck.
  4. Save: the appointment number (AP-000001) is generated automatically, status = scheduled.

Appointment status#

Appointment status flow: scheduled → checked_in → checked_out; cancelled, no_show and expired are the other exits.
An appointment can only be edited or deleted while it is scheduled. Once the truck checks in (checked_in), it is locked — change the gate record instead.

Appointments are shared with WMS#

YMS and WMS appointments live in the same wms_appointments table — the source_app column marks each row as yms or wms. The WMS receiving side sees the same appointments, so dock receiving doesn’t need a separate booking. If a checked-in appointment flags equipment_need_offloading, that’s the heads-up that a WMS receiving job is coming.

The appointment list has a calendar view grouped by day and time slot, plus punctuality stats (early / on time / late) so you can spot carriers that habitually run late.
