Pallets & LPN management
The WMS → Pallets page: batch-generate LPNs, build pallets during receiving, use factory labels, and print pallet labels.
The pallets page#
WMS → Pallets is the pallet list (LPN / contents / location / status / condition tag), filterable by warehouse. From here you batch-generate LPNs, build pallets during receiving, and print pallet labels.
Batch-generate LPNs (pick target totes)#
- Click “Batch generate LPN”: pick the warehouse (defaults to the current warehouse) + count N (1–200, default 10).
- The backend generates LPN-{seq} (unified prefix; existing PLT- prefixes are untouched) with status=building and source_type=pick — these are the order-pick target totes for PICK-STAGE.
- After success choose “Generate only” (close and refresh the list) or “Generate and print” (calls the label API per pallet through the print pipeline).
Building pallets during receiving#
- In palletized receiving (desktop Receive → Palletized, or the phone build flow): pick 1+ lines with remaining qty, set qty per pallet and pallet count N (default 1) to build N identical pallets at once.
- Condition dropdown (Good/Damaged, per pallet, default Good) and a storage location (required; only storage-type locations are listed).
- Click Build — the pallet lands in the Pallet area and Summary updates; an orange tag warns if empty building pallets exist (non-blocking).
Factory-label mode
Tick “use factory labels”: pallet count switches to entering one factory label code per pallet (scan/type, one per pallet, de-duplicated within the batch). The pallet LPN becomes the factory code (label_source=factory) — the LPN sequence is skipped and no new label is printed; the success page reads “factory labels, no printing needed”.
- Pallet states and deletion: new pallets are status=building; empty pallets in building status can be deleted (double confirmation → DELETE API); pallets that already wrote inventory cannot be deleted.
Printing pallet labels#
After a receipt reaches received, tick one/multiple/all pallets on the receipt’s Pallet List to print pallet labels (shared label API). The LPN barcode is CODE128, on a 4×6 label. Desktop prints go through Device Hub straight to the Zebra printer; the phone goes through the cloud print queue (print_jobs) — the success page says “labels generated, please print on desktop”. Factory-label mode prints nothing new.
- Picking cart and totes: a tote is an LPN (license_plate, tenant-globally unique). The picking cart (location_type=cart) is itself a movable location — tote picking books to the cart location_id the tote belongs to.
