Asset loans: who has what, and when it comes back

Last updated 2026-10-15

Request, approve, check out and check in warehouse equipment — scanners, pallet jacks, forklifts. Overdue loans are flagged red automatically.

Borrowing a scanner for stock count, a pallet jack for the peak season, a forklift for the warehouse next door — put it on a loan ticket instead of a chat message. Each loan gets a number (ALO-000001…), a borrower, a check-out date and a due date. Anything past its due date and not returned yet jumps to a red "Overdue" tag automatically.

The lifecycle of a loan#

  1. Request — pick the asset, type who is borrowing, when and what for. Status: Requested.
  2. Approve or Reject — the approver taps one button; a rejection needs a reason, which stays on the ticket.
  3. Check out — hand over the machine. You can adjust the actual hand-over date if it differs from the request.
  4. Check in — the machine is back. Overdue days are visible right on the ticket.

What the system guards for you#

  • No double loans: while one loan on an asset is checked out, a second one cannot start — the system blocks it.
  • No loans on scrapped assets.
  • The due date cannot be earlier than the check-out date.
The "Overdue only" filter is your weekly routine: one click shows every machine that should already be back.
