Assign a Driver and Get Their Confirmation

Dernière mise à jour 2026-10-31

After a booking is confirmed, assign the driver right in Yardor. The driver confirms through a link — no account needed — and both sides see the answer.

Once the warehouse confirms your appointment, the last step is telling the warehouse who is actually coming. In Yardor you pick the driver from your driver pool, the driver gets a confirmation link they can open on any phone, and their answer — confirmed, or declined with a reason — shows on both your side and the warehouse’s.

Driver assignment and confirmation at a glance (diagram placeholder — screenshots will follow).

Assign (or reassign) a driver#

  1. Open the confirmed appointment under “My appointments” and find the Driver assignment section.
  2. Pick the driver from your driver pool and tap “Assign driver”. (Drivers are managed under “Drivers” on the carrier side — add the driver there first if they are not listed.)
  3. Copy the confirmation link and send it to the driver the way you usually reach them — text message, WhatsApp, or your dispatch channel. Yardor shows the link on the appointment; it does not text the driver for you.
  4. Need to swap drivers? Pick another driver and tap “Reassign” — the old link stops working and the new driver gets a fresh one.

What the driver sees#

The link opens a simple page with the appointment time, warehouse, and the vehicle details from the booking. The driver can correct the tractor plate or container number if they changed, then tap Confirm — or decline with a short reason. No Yardor account and no password are needed, so any driver can answer from the cab.

Please ask your driver to answer before the reply deadline shown on your appointment — if there is no answer in time, the assignment expires and you can simply assign again. If the driver declines, their reason shows on the appointment so dispatch can react right away.

What the warehouse sees#

The warehouse appointments list shows the assigned driver and the confirmation state for each booking — waiting for the driver, confirmed, or declined — so the gate team knows who to expect without calling dispatch. If a driver declines, the warehouse also gets an email with the driver’s reason, so a no-show driver never comes as a surprise at the gate.

Your driver list (Drivers & vehicles)#

The pool you pick from lives on the “Drivers & vehicles” page on the carrier side. It is one company-wide list, shared across every warehouse you book with — add a driver once and they can be assigned anywhere.

  • Add driver: only the name is required. A phone number is worth adding, and license number, license expiry, vehicle type, truck number and the usual license plate can all go on the same record, so booking and assignment stop asking for them every time.
  • A driver who leaves is retired, not deleted: tap “Retire” and they stop appearing in the assignment picker, while their past assignments stay on the appointments they served. Every driver on the list carries a status — Active, Inactive or Suspended.
  • Driver accounts stay optional: a driver record is all you need to assign someone, and confirmation still works through the link above. The “Invite to create an account” note on the form only records that you plan to invite them.
